What to Expect on Assessment Day
Canyon Hills Little League
Assessments are not tryouts
No player is cut. No scores are kept. No pass or fail.
Assessments are used to help place players in the appropriate division and create balanced teams.

Players should arrive early 15 to 30 minutes to allow time for check in and warm up.
Who Is Required to Attend
All players league age 7 and older are required to attend assessments.
Players registered in Tee Ball and Challenger divisions do not participate in assessments.
Most league age 6 players do not require assessments.
If a player who is required to attend is unable to do so, the family must notify the league in advance.
What Players Will Do
Players rotate through basic baseball drills designed to evaluate fundamentals in an age appropriate and structured assessment process.
Hitting from a coach pitch
Fielding ground balls
Catching fly balls
Throwing to a base
Running the bases
Important
No live pitching. No scores recorded. No player is evaluated against another player.
What to Bring
Players should wear athletic clothing suitable for baseball.
A baseball glove, baseball bat, and helmet are required.
Bats and helmets will not be available for use.
Weather Policy
Assessments are scheduled to take place weather permitting.
Rain makeup information is to be determined and will be communicated if necessary.
